Scope and principles

This policy explains how this website processes personal data. We act in accordance with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the principles it sets out: lawfulness, good faith, proportionality, purpose limitation, and transparency.

As a private controller, we are not required to rely on a specific statutory basis for each processing activity; we process your data only for the purposes described here and not in a way that contradicts your express wishes.

Contact form

When you use the contact form, we process the details you enter: your name, email address, and message (required) and, if provided, practice name (optional). We use them solely to handle your enquiry. Providing the data is voluntary; without it we cannot answer your enquiry.

Please do not submit health data or other sensitive personal data through this form.

When you submit, an invisible spam check runs via a hidden field. It stores no additional personal data about you and uses no Google reCAPTCHA or comparable third-party service.

Sample-analysis download

When you enter your email address for the sample-analysis download, we process only that detail, to log the download. No analysis of your own website takes place: the downloaded PDF is a fixed, anonymized sample, independent of your input.

Providing the data is voluntary; without it the download is not available. We do not use the email address for advertising and do not pass it on.

Email processing

The details you send through the form reach us by email. Enquiries and our replies are handled over the email infrastructure of our Swiss provider Infomaniak (server mail.infomaniak.com), from the mailbox marco.covi@praxis-datenschutz.ch. Email content is stored on Swiss servers.

Hosting and storage location

This website and its database are hosted in Switzerland with Infomaniak (Datenstandort Schweiz). Details submitted through the contact form and the sample-analysis download are additionally stored in a database (MariaDB) on that Swiss infrastructure. Server logs needed for security and operation are kept on the same infrastructure. No personal data is transferred abroad.

Cookies and analytics

For anonymous audience measurement this website uses Matomo, web analytics software that we host ourselves on our Swiss infrastructure at Infomaniak. The analysis is cookieless: no cookies are set and no data is passed to any third party.

Your IP address is shortened (anonymized) before any storage, so that no conclusions about your person are possible. There is no cross-site tracking, and a Do-Not-Track signal sent by your browser is respected.

Because the analysis is anonymized and cookieless, no consent banner is required under the FDPIC guidance on cookies and similar technologies (version 1.1 of 6 October 2025) and the FADP. The duty to inform nevertheless remains, and we meet it with this policy.

Retention and deletion

Details submitted through the contact form and the sample-analysis download, together with the server logs kept for security and operation, are retained for 12 months. After this period they are deleted automatically.

Deletion is carried out by a process that runs daily on our Swiss infrastructure; a technical log entry is created for each deletion.

Your rights

Under the FADP you have, in particular, the right to information about the data we process about you, and the right to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at marco.covi@praxis-datenschutz.ch.

These claims can be enforced through the Swiss civil courts. You may also report a matter to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), who decides at their own discretion whether to open an investigation.

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The version published here always applies.
